Among the innumerable pop culture properties being rebooted and retooled in our dystopian age of content is Gossip Girl, which is getting a new series via the HBO Max streaming service. Fortunately, it will maintain some continuity to the first iteration of the show thanks to its narrator.
The new Gossip Girl will have new characters, to be sure, but it will once again be narrated by Kristen Bell, who voiced the show's mysterious titular gossip queen when it originally aired.
As previously reported, the new show will update us on the lives of big city teens. "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl," an official statement reads. "The prestige series will address just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years."
