Kate Winslet Signs On to New HBO Limited Series 'The Palace'

The incomparable Kate Winslet is due to star in another limited series for HBO, having signed on to lead The Palace, created by showrunner Will Tracy.

The Palace is said to tell the story of "one year within the walls of the palace of an authoritarian regime as it begins to unravel." So far, no release schedule has been revealed.

Winslet will executive produce the series alongside Tracy, and Stephen Frears is attached to direct and executive produce.

"The notion that Kate Winslet and Stephen Frears, two of our industry's leading lights (who – remarkably – have never collaborated before now), are joining forces to bring Will Tracy's wildly original, prescient, and dazzling scripts to life at HBO is a dream come true for us," said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming.

After sweeping last awards season for her role in HBO's 2021 limited series Mare of Easttown, The Palace will mark Winslet's fourth limited series with the network, following Mildred Pierce and the forthcoming adaptation of Hernan Diaz's novel The Trust.
