Former Sex Pistol John Lydon — a.k.a. Johnny Rotten — was revealed as one of the unexpected guests on FOX's The Masked Singer last night (November 10), after giving the crowd a rendition of "School's Out" in a jester costume.
In an interview with Billboard, the old-school punk revealed that he agreed to appear on the show for his wife.
"Someone contacted my manager and we discussed it and I thought it would be really good because it meant my lovely wife, who is suffering from Alzheimer's, might get a great sense of fun out of it if she managed to guess who it was," he said. "We've lived together for 47 years, Nora and I, so she must have some clues as to who I am and what I can get up to."
Unfortunately, the musician was the first to be eliminated following a performance of "Man of Constant Sorrow."
Nonetheless, you can watch Lydon's performance and reveal below.
