Gilmore Girls recently returned with Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life — a show that was far, far better than it had any reason to be. Rather than wait another nine years for more, it looks as if Netflix is working toward more episodes of the series.
Over the weekend, Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos told the UK press that he was in "very preliminary" talks with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino about the possibility of more episodes.
"We hope [there are more instalments]. We obviously loved the success of the show, fans loved how well it was done, it delivered what they hoped," he said, adding that "the worst thing is to wait a couple of years for your favorite show to come back and for it to disappoint you, but they sure delivered and people were really excited about more, and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that."
Considering the fact that A Year in a Life ended with a cliffhanger, many fans are dying to know what happens to Lorelai and Rory. That said, some argue that the show ended at a perfect spot, bringing its narrative full circle.
Either way, if something is successful it'll surely continue to get made. So it's safe to say that we can expect more Gilmore Girls on Netflix down the road.
Thanks to The Hollywood Reporter for the tip.
