Fox Execs Say Yes to More 'X-Files'

Even though some found the recent episodes of The X-Files to be a little, well, rancid, true fans of Mulder and Scully will be pleased to note that the show is most likely coming back for even more paranormal adventures.

The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Fox executives Gary Newman and Dana Walden, who explained that they're prepared to green light more X-Files provided that everyone involved can make their schedules work.

According to the piece, the executives are in continued talks with creator Chris Carter and leads David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. All parties are "on board" for more X-Files, but it boils down to getting them all in the same place long enough to shoot more of the series.

The execs added that they were "encouraged" and "hopeful" about more X-Files episodes, but we shouldn't expect them until the 2017-2018 TV season at the very earliest.
