Dustin Diamond — the actor best known as playing Screech in Saved by the Bell — has been hospitalized.
As TMZ reports, Diamond was admitted to hospital in Florida this past weekend due to "pain all over his body and a general sense of unease," the publication writes.
According to his team, worries are that Diamond may be battling cancer. Currently, doctors are running multiple tests, including a biopsy, on the actor, TMZ reports. The disease runs in Diamond's family, and his mother died of breast cancer.
UPDATE (1/14, 8:20 p.m. ET): Diamond has now been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and undergoing chemo. You can learn more here.
While Saved by the Bell recently returned for a revival series, Diamond did not take part. The actor infamously released a 2009 tell-all book called Behind the Bell, in which he alleged that there was drug use and sleeping around on the set of the hit '90s show. He later apologized to his castmates.
Diamond has also had multiple run-ins with the law over the years.
