Dune may have been one of the more stoic entries of 2021's film oeuvre, but according to star Rebecca Ferguson, the set of the film had moments where it was anything but. In a new interview about Denis Villeneuve's recent epic, the actress confirmed the cast got a bit cheeky in between shoots — going as far as to give each other porn names on set.
Speaking with NME TV editor Alex Flood, Ferguson revealed that it all began when they affectionately named one of the film's spacecrafts "Horny Throbber," explaining that the nickname "stayed with me, and Patrice [Vermette], our production designer just had to deal with it."
"You know that you have to have pornographic names for everything, right? I'm not even going to start on the sand worm," Ferguson joked.
Disappointingly, the actress would not spill on her co-stars' porn names, but confirmed that her own is "Pussy Trawl Valley."
She added: "We had one day where we were just playing around … you know, your porn star name, [which is] your first animal name and your street. We just have fun, it's silly. It's … opposite to the actual film that we're creating [with] the humour that lies beneath the surface."
