Today marks the day that everyone dons their mouse ears, wraps up in their Star Wars snuggie and kicks back with a Marvel mug as they log in to the brand new Disney+ streaming service. Unfortunately, however, the launch of the service has not been as smooth as planned.
This morning, Downdetector.com reported 6,900 reports of problems with the service as users had trouble signing up, logging in and using the service. There were issues throughout the United States, Canada and the Netherlands.
Once the service did start working, certain titles were unavailable despite showing up in the store's interface.
Around 7 a.m. PST, Disney released a statement saying, "The consumer demand for Disney+ has exceeded our high expectations. We are working to quickly resolve the current user issue. We appreciate your patience."
