Yesterday found Disney bombarding the internet with news of a million and one new TV series and movies, but all that content doesn't come cheap. So that's why Canadians will now have to pay extra if they want Disney+.
Next year, the streamer will raise its monthly subscription price by $3 in Canada, the Canadian Press reports. But in addition to all that content from Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar and Disney proper, Disney+ will now add Star — the international version of Hulu. So yes, Canadians will finally be able to enjoy the typically U.S.-only Hulu.
With Star, Disney+ users will get a ton of new content from the likes of 20th Century Studios and the FX channel.
Disney+ will increase its monthly price from $8.99 to $11.99 for all Canadian users on February 23, 2021. But at the same time, Star will appear to use.
Among the many FX series that will be available through Star are the likes of Fargo, Atlanta, American Horror Story, Devs, Dave, What We Do in the Shadows and more. It also includes the newly renewed It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Disney has also promised 35 first-run series will premiere within a year of the launch date for Star.
Of course, then there's a pile of recently announced series, including 10 from Star Wars and 10 more from Marvel, among many others.
