David Harbour Called the Duffer Brothers to Find Out If Hopper Is Returning to 'Stranger Things'

He made the call on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' (and yes, there are spoilers)

David Harbour seems to be just as confused as the rest of us about the ending to Stranger Things 3, so last night (October 8) on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the actor called showrunners the Duffer Brothers to try and figure out exactly what happened to his character.

If you've seen the third season of the show (and if you haven't and don't want it spoiled, stop reading now), you know that Hopper seemingly meets his end in the final episode — but a post-credits scene in a Demogorgon-filled Russian prison hears guards talking about an "American" that we never see on camera.

Naturally, conspiracy theories are rampant on the internet, but nobody — including Harbour — knows what Hopper's fate actually is. Harbour believes himself to be the aforementioned American, but he told Meyers that he hasn't received too many phone calls since the end of the last season.

As such, Harbour picks up the phone and gives the Duffer Brothers a call to try to find out if he still has a job on their show.

Luckily, the brothers were together in the same room and answered the FaceTime call, but when Harbour asks if Hopper is dead, all they can say is, "We're still figuring it out, David."

Regardless, Harbour's next gig is hosting Saturday Night Live this Saturday (October 12).
