Controversy Arises over Racist Tweets from New 'SNL' Cast Member Melissa Villaseñor

Published Sep 23, 2016
Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones has had to deal with plenty of online trolls in recent months, so it's pretty unfortunate that her new cast mate Melissa Villaseñor has been outed for making racist tweets of her own.Though she's SNL's first-ever Latina cast member, Villaseñor has come under fire for some unsavoury tweets she made in 2010 and 2011.
Though she's since deleted them, Villaseñor wrote a handful of tweets with unsavoury commentary about African American, Japanese and Mexican people. Whether or not they were intended as jokes (and their simple structure makes that extremely unclear), the posts are deeply unfunny.
Since nothing on the internet ever truly goes away, you'll find screenshots of Villaseñor's tweets below.
All props to @aurabogado. I just took screenshots since @melissavcomedy is quickly scrubbing tweets like these... @nbcsnl @SNLUpdate pic.twitter.com/KXU9Z4DVqD
