We've always known Christopher Walken to be an eccentric character, but many decades into his career, he still has the ability to surprise. Take, for example, his revelation that he's never owned a cellphone or a computer.
Walken made this revelation while appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert via virtual chat. "Someone came over and set this up because I don't have a cellphone or a computer," he said.
When asked why Walken didn't have those things, he said the technology "just passed me by. And I never got involved in it because it would be strange to have a 10-year-old be better at it than I am."
Someone usually gives Walken a phone when he's working on a movie, but he said he's never sent a text or an email in his life. "A cellphone, it is a little like a watch: if you need it, someone else has got it," he said.
Walken's appearance was to promote the new film Wild Mountain Thyme, which has already received plenty of hate online thanks to its ludicrously bad depiction of Ireland in its trailer. Probably a good thing he doesn't use the internet to see it.
