Nearly two years since she announced her multiple sclerosis diagnosis, Christina Applegate has revealed she likely won't act on-camera again.

The actor has always been candid about her struggles with the disease, but is now sharing how MS will change the trajectory of her career: "I can't even imagine going to set right now. This is a progressive disease. I don't know if I'm going to get worse," Applegate said [via Vanity Fair].

Following her diagnosis, Applegate filmed the third season of Dead to Me, though it wasn't an easy feat: "Season [3] was written over a year before this all was shot," she said. "None of us knew I was going to be sick and gain 40 pounds from medication and have immobility."

She also praised her Dead to Me co-star Linda Cardellini, expressing gratitude for shooting her last project alongside her. "I'm probably not going to work on camera again, but I'm so glad that I went out with someone who is by far the greatest actress I've ever worked with in my entire life, if not the greatest human I've ever known."

Despite closing the curtain on her on-screen career, Applegate says she will continue to do voice acting. "I can do voiceover stuff because I have to support my family and keep my brain working," she said.
