Whether he's popping up at a dive bar or listening to buzz bands at SXSW, beloved wise ass Bill Murray is always up to something. Over the years, he's developed an extremely approachable persona. That said, you might not want to sneak photos of him if he's eating at a restaurant.

As The Hollywood Reporter explains, Murray was eating on the rooftop of Carmel, California's Vesuvio restaurant in Carmel, California last month. When he noticed some fans snapping photos, he opted to swipe their cell phones and throw them off the roof.

In an email to THR, Carmel Police Commander Paul Tomasi said, "Mr. Murray admitted to being present and was willing to pay for the damaged property.

Mr. Murray was not on the scene when we arrived; however we contacted a representative for him the following morning," he continued. "None of the victims wanted to press charges. They just wanted their phones replaced. This was handled as a civil matter between Mr. Murray and our victims."
