Last year, Roar Uthaug directed Alicia Vikander in an updated version of Tomb Raider. Now, the film is getting a sequel — and some possible arthouse cred thanks to its new director.
U.K. filmmaker Ben Wheatley is known for cult favourites like Sightseers, High-Rise and Free Fire, but he'll try his hand at some big-ticket productions when he helms the next Tomb Raider flick.
Vikander will reprise the role of Lara Croft, and the film's script will be penned by Wheatley's frequent collaborator Amy Jump.
