​'Austin Powers' Actor Verne Troyer Hospitalized

Austin Powers actor Verne Troyer has been taken to hospital in Los Angeles.
 
According to a post shared on the actor's Instagram, he is receiving "the best care possible and "resting comfortably." His team did not divulge what he had been admitted for.
 

TMZ reports that Troyer is being held at the hospital for 72 hours for evaluation. According to the report, police and paramedics responded to a call from one of Troyer's friends, who described the actor as "extremely drunk, upset and suicidal."
 
Troyer was admitted to hospital a year ago to be treated for alcohol addiction and later attended rehab. At the time, he released a statement saying, "As you know, I've battled alcohol addiction in the past and while it's not always been an easy fight, I'm willing to continue my fight day by day."
 
The 49-year-old actor is best known for his roles as Mini-Me in the Austin Powers films and Griphook in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
