Another familiar face is returning for the highly anticipated Spider-Man 3, as Alfred Molina will be back as Doctor Octopus.

The news comes via The Hollywood Reporter, which reports the actor will suit back up as Otto Octavius following his appearance in Sam Raimi's 2004 sequel Spider-Man 2.

While Marvel and Sony have not made the casting decision public, THR reports that Molina had been spotted on set for the upcoming film. This follows rumours last month that Molina would be back as the villain.

New of Molina's return follows news that both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield would join Tom Holland in the next iteration of his Spider-Man franchise, while Jamie Foxx is said to be returning as Electro.

As previously reported, the upcoming film will be directed by Jon Watts, who helmed Homecoming and last year's Spider-Man: Far from Home. The film was last slated to arrive on December 17, 2021.
