Everything was not what it seemed when the wizarding fates of the Russo family were decided 12 years ago: Wizards of Waverly Place is getting a sequel.

The classic Disney Channel show is getting revived with a pilot that is currently in the works, with Selena Gomez (Alex) and David Henrie (Justin) acting as executive producers. While Henrie will be a series regular, Gomez will only guest star in the first episode.

Helmed by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas — writers and executive producers for That's So Raven spinoff Raven's Home — the new series will follow Justin after he gives up his wizarding powers for a new life. A young wizard will turn up at his door, and Justin must train her to save the Wizard World.

The title and release date for the new series have yet to be revealed.
