Rock jokesters Tenacious D have been pretty quiet since making their feature film Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny and its accompanying soundtrack six years ago, but the duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass are apparently ready to return with more acoustically accompanied dick jokes in the near future. They've just announced a new album called Rize of the Fenix.
Little is known about the album thus far, but the twosome's website now features a quick animation sequence featuring the album cover, well, rising into a picture frame while the title track plays in the background. On the track, Black trots out his best bro-rock croon, insisting that despite what their critics assumed, "just like the phoenix, we'll fucking rise again."

Even if we don't have a tracklisting or street date for the LP -- though it's rumoured to drop in May -- the acoustic cock rockers are at least inching towards giving us the info. Aside from its pulsating, veiny shaft-and-ball-sack-inspired body, that bird may just be packing two more flaming pocket-rockets for wings.
