Good Riddance

'Peace in Our Time' (album stream)

Long-running (and skateboarding) California punks Good Riddance are ready to return with Peace in Our Time next week, but Exclaim! is giving you a listen to the new record right now.
The band announced their reunion back in 2012, though Peace in Our Time will mark the group's first new album in nine years — or as as vocalist Russ Rankin puts it, they "finally succumbed to the inevitable itch to write new music." It follows 2006's My Republic.
The 14-track offering is a culmination of the group's diverse sonic interests and influences. Thrashy hardcore shines through on opener "Disputatio," while "No Greater Fight" serves up melodic punk in the vein of Bad Religion, "Dry Season" pays homage to Black Flag's "hefty, discordant" hardcore, and "Washed Away" hears the band's attempt to channel the Descendents.
It's both an toast to the past and look ahead to the band's next chapter. Peace in Our Time hits shelves on April 21 via Fat Wreck Chords, but you can stream it in the player below, right now.
