Almost three years to the day after Good Riddance announced their reunion, the Santa Cruz punk team have revealed plans to put out a new LP. Sure to calm fans that have been waiting for new tunes since the reformation, Peace In Our Time lands April 21 through longtime label home Fat Wreck Chords.
Fat confirmed on their website today (February 13) that Good Riddance's ninth full-length effort, and first since 2006's My Republic, lands this spring. The set supposedly "rips all expectations to shreds" and was recorded with producer Bill Stevenson (Descendents, ALL).
While previews from the platter have yet to be revealed, a 14-song tracklist has surfaced. In a statement, vocalist Russ Rankin explained that, after a few years back together, the group "finally succumbed to the inevitable itch to write new music." He added, however, that he had been writing solo even before Good Riddance got back together.
"In 2010 I had a few songs which I demoed on my own, and when I played them for the rest of the Good Riddance guys, they were stoked and wanted to make them GR songs," he said, adding that Luke Pabich brought a handful of riffs and song ideas to the table as well.
Though details have yet to be made available, Good Riddance is expected to tour behind Peace In Our Time. More info on the trip is expected ahead of the album launch.
