Poor Kanine Records. Just when one of its acts starts getting somewhere a bigger, fancier label swoops in and scoops 'em up. It happened with Grizzly Bear, it happened with
Oxford Collapse and now it's happening with Chairlift. The synth-minded NYC trio have just inked a deal with Columbia.
As their first major label venture, Chairlift will re-release their debut full-length, Does You Inspire You, on April 21. The album will be remastered and throw on two new bonus tracks, "Le Flying Saucer Hat" and "Dixie Gypsy," the latter of which comes boasting some production work by Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor.
In addition to the reissue, Chairlift have a whole pile of tour dates lined up that involve the band opening up for Sebastien Tellier and Yacht on a few stops, as well as Peter Bjorn and John on several others.
