Yukon Blonde Announce 'Tiger Talk' LP

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 24, 2012

BC-based retro rockers Yukon Blonde promised fans a new punk-inspired LP by the spring, and it looks as if the group will be keeping their promise. Hot off the heels of their Fire//Water EP and the "Stairway"/"Radio" seven-inch, the act have officially announced their sophomore LP, Tiger Talk. It's set to arrive March 20 through Dine Alone Records.

As previously reported, the ten-song outing was recorded at Burnaby, BC's Hive Creative Labs with producer Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Ladyhawk). The record is said to feature the same kind of hook-heavy tunes Yukon Blonde are known for, while offering up a new side of the act via some late '70s/early '80s post-punk and new wave influences.

A press release points to "Oregon Shores" for its face-melting solos, but other highlights are said to include the previously released, Elvis Costello-inspired "Radio," and the power pop "whoa-ohs" of "My Girl." You can check out the tracklist below, and grab the lead single "Stairway" here
