Young Widows Map Out North American Tour with Mono, Premiere New Track

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 25, 2014

A series of North American tour dates have just been confirmed by Kentucky three-piece Young Widows, with the band set to bring the post-punk hurt of their forthcoming fourth LP, Easy Pain, to the stage.

The act get out on the road late next month with a quick batch of U.S. dates teaming them up with Washington's Helms Alee. A few weeks later, they'll undertake a two-week trip opening for Japanese post-rock combo Mono, which brings them up into Canada for a show at Toronto's Hard Luck venue. You can see all of the trip details in the itinerary down below.

As previously reported, Easy Pain was recorded at My Morning Jacket producer Kevin Ratterman's Funeral Home Studio, with a press release noting the album is Young Widows' "densest, most disturbingly addictive record yet." The band had previously premiered "Kerosene Girl" and have now let loose a second sneak peek: "King Sol."

You can check out the track's bombastic drums, wild and wobbly vocals and ruptured-speaker bass lines down below.
