Some say it ain't easy being green-less, and Kentucky post-hardcore trio Young Widows add to the maxim by weighing in on financial woes with their latest Easy Pain preview, the digital-only bonus track "The Money."
A tense and somewhat bluesy setup of simple drums and a two-note bass slide supports the protagonist's tale about an apparently necessary surgery, and how it hits a family right in the pocketbook. Apparently "Mother sold her mansion, father went back to church" and someone else looking to pitch in got a bogus deal after selling off their records dirt cheap.
Prone to a couple of distorted explosions, the song delivers some skin-piercing sonic shrapnel, and you can check it all out down below.
As previously reported, Easy Pain arrives May 13 through Temporary Residence Ltd. and will be supported with a North American tour that rolls through Toronto May 17. You'll find the tour info here.
