Brooklyn psych rockers Yeasayer - whose debut All Hour Cymbals was one of the most highly buzzed albums of 2007 - have announced details for their second full-length. It's called Odd Blood, and will be released on February 9 via their new label home of Secretly Canadian in North America and on Mute overseas.
The band recorded Odd Blood between two studios, one in upstate New York and one in NYC. According to the label's press release, the album "took many layers to finalize," so fans of All Hour Cymbals can probably expect the same rich production and lush percussive arrangements.
The band are planning a show for October 30 at New York's Guggenheim Museum, promising that the night will be "an extravaganza of excitement and yes, more news." What that news will entail we can only speculate, but what we do know is that the band will "expand its lighting globe set up in the famed Frank Lloyd Wright rotunda to create a more interactive affair."
For those not fortunate enough to be in NYC for the event, check out the band's website the same night to learn about whatever news the band reveals.
