The ex-girlfriend and alleged abuse victim of late Florida rapper XXXTentacion has spoken out following the rapper's death.
Geneva Ayala — the woman at the centre of the rapper's widely publicized 2016 domestic abuse case — took to Twitter today to write that XXX's death "isn't about me...stop tagging me in disrespectful threads and arguments. i honestly don't care for any of the hype. i lost someone close to me. leave me alone."
In October 2016, XXX was arrested on charges of aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation and false imprisonment. Further details of the abuse were detailed in an extensive reports from Pitchfork published last September.
Ayala continued: "it's disgusting that people are speaking for me. i don't care if no one cared about me however many months ago, i didn't lose my life. he did. it's permanent. i'm still here. like how do you think that makes me feel? everyone expecting me to be relieved or happy?! no, i'm broken."

Okayplayer notes that the campaign, reactivated less than a month ago, received over $1,000 USD in donations in the wake of XXX's death. At the time of publication, the campaign has raised over $32,000, surpassing its $25,000 goal.

Ayala had launched a GoFundMe campaign in October 2016 in order to fund a $20,000 USD orbital surgery. She had claimed that shortly after its launch, the rapper's fans accused her of fraud, leaving the campaign temporarily frozen despite the inclusion of medical paperwork and injury description.it's disgusting that people are speaking for me. i don't care if no one cared about me however many months ago, i didn't lose my life. he did. it's permanent. i'm still here. like how do you think that makes me feel? everyone expecting me to be relieved or happy?! no, i'm broken.
