As the singer/bassist of Rush, prog rock hero Geddy Lee is loved and reviled in equal measure. Clearly, the guys and girls of the Woodshed Orchestra (led by former Rheostatics member Dave Clark) are massive fans of the shrill-voiced singer, so much so that they wrote a song about him, simply called "Geddy Lee."
The tune includes lines like, "Geddy Lee is a Canadian national treasure / Playing the bass in the greatest rock band ever." And there is not one but seven videos for this klezmer-esque jig, each with subtitles in a different language. With versions in English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, people from all across the globe can understand this tribute to a Canadian musical icon.
The Hebrew version is below, but all the versions are here.
