Last year, when Toronto, ON folk rockers the Wooden Sky (pictured) toured across Canada, they played in various unofficial venues, including bedrooms, backyards and parks. This time around, they will be doing it more legit, appearing in clubs, as well as at the occasional festival. On the outing, they will be joined by '70s-rock-loving Vancouverites Yukon Blonde.
This pairing should excite anyone who's been following this year's Polaris Music Prize, since both bands recently earned a spot on the award's long list. The groups' tour will last from September until November and will take them from Vancouver all the way to PEI.
Before Yukon Blonde join the tour, the Wooden Sky have a pair of festival dates: Harvest Moon Festival in Clearwater, MB, and Rifflandia Festival in Victoria, BC. There will also be a handful of dates in the Northeastern U.S. between October 10 and 25, including a performance at CMJ in New York. However, those shows aren't finalized yet.
