Witchaven

Terrorstorm

This 35-minute blast of blackened German-style thrash originally came out as an indie last year and is now being given a new push. It's worth it, as this is a totally pro piece of work, all razor sharp, Kreator-esque riffs, Teutonic scissor beats and inane "political" lyricizing (the 9/11 samples were not a good idea). For a debut, this is shockingly well done, right down to the sharp production and economic in-and-out running time. There are even moments of individuality, such as the interesting riff work in "Dawn of the Unholy." Considering the band have been around for a good six years, it makes sense that their debut is as good as it is. I have no idea why this one is so under the radar, but Witchaven won't be for too much longer.
