Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly Reportedly Working on Step Brothers Rap Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 14, 2020

Last month, funnymen Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly treated us to a surprisingly enjoyable cover of Christmas classic "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy," which was funny while still remaining faithful to the original by Bing Crosby and David Bowie. Now, the two comedians have reportedly teamed up for another musical collaboration -- a rap album.

Filmmaker (and longtime Will Ferrell collaborator) Adam McKay announced the news in a tweet posted yesterday (January 4), "Are we currently working on a Step Bros rap album? Yup." This refers to the 2008 film, Step Brothers, which starred Ferrell and Reilly, and was directed, co-produced and co-written by McKay.

In case you thought McKay's tweet was a joke, he added, "I wasn't kidding about Step Bros rap album. And we just found out we have a crazy big time producer. Mos Def, you up for a guest flow?"

That's all the information we have for the time being, but if you have any guesses for who the "crazy big time producer" is, feel free to speculate in the comments section below.
