Sleater-Kinney are celebrating 25 years of Dig Me Out by announcing a massive covers album for charity, calling on their famous music pals to remake songs on their seminal 1997 album for a new release due on October 21.

Wilco, St. Vincent, Courtney Barnettthe Linda Lindas, Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires, LowTV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe, NNAMDÏBlack Belt Eagle Scout, Margo Price and others have contributed to Dig Me In: A Dig Me Out Covers Album, the sales of which will benefit Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center (SGMYRC).

"The artists who appear on Dig Me In have not so much covered the 13 original songs, but reinterpreted and reimagined them," Sleater-Kinney wrote in a statement. "Through added layers or the subtraction of guitars and drums, they provide a new way into the songs. Fresh rage, joy, pain, reclamation, slyness, and longing. Other interpretations slow down or stretch out the songs, trading urgency for contemplation, weariness or even a hint of ease."

Today, they've shared Barnett's cover of "Words and Guitar" from the record. Listen to that below, where you can also see the album's tracklisting.
