Beloved Canadian act Whitehorse have just announced a new album, and it's coming fast. On March 19, the duo of Luke Doucet and Melissa McClelland will release Modern Love via Six Shooter. For an idea of what to expect, you can check out the record's "I Wanna Make Promises (That I Can't Keep)" now.

According to a press release, "Modern Love is Whitehorse's blueprint for love in the Digital Age," with the record's "intuitive UX creates a fully immersive experience of interpersonal harmonics in ultra rich waveshape sonics."

The album was captured at Taurus Recordings in Toronto, with the pair roping in extra help via Thom D'Arcy (string arrangements), Fred Eltringham (drums), Gus Van Go (bass on "Promises"), Robin Hatch (wurlitzer, mellotron) and Drew Jurecka (string performances).

Below, listen to the record's newly shared "I Wanna Make Promises (That I Can't Keep") — a song described as "a loping, laidback fantasy 404, buzzes with electrostatic escapism for jolted, jilted ideas."

Whitehorse's last proper album was 2017's Panther in the Dollhouse, which they followed with their Northern South project.

As previously reported, Whitehorse are set to play the Horseshoe "Hootenanny" Livestream Series on March 26.
