Rising British indie-rockers Wet Leg have released "Ur Mum," their final single from their self-titled debut album, which is out April 8 via Domino. The track is accompanied by a music video directed by Lava La Rue.
"It's just a diss song I wrote to make myself feel better," said vocalist Rhian Teasdale in a press release, adding, "It worked."
Speaking about the video, director La Rue said, "Artistically it shows where the aesthetic of American indie films like Napoleon Dynamite fit perfectly in the scape of rural British settings - this concept first came to me when the band took me to [Isle of Wight] for the first time - I saw the connection and it all clicked into place."
Wet Leg are about to embark on a massive, nearly sold-out spring/summer tour, which includes a handful of Canadian dates — July 31 at the Osheaga Music Festival in Montreal and August 25 at the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver. Their Toronto show, which was meant to take place last month at the Opera House, has yet to be rescheduled.
