The MTV Music Video Awards went down last night (August 26), and in addition to handing out trophies across all genres, there were plenty of live performances to keep the show entertaining.
Taylor Swift opened the show with "You Need to Calm Down" and "Lover," using her platform to encourage viewers to sign the Equality Act.
Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello teamed up for a live rendition of their hit duet "Senorita," but they weren't the only tag team of the evening.
Big Sean and A$AP Ferg performed a brand new track called "Bezerk," J. Balvin and Bad Bunny performed "Que Pretendes," Rosalía and Ozuna did "A Ningun Hombre" (and "Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi" and "Aute Cuture"), and Queen Latifah closed out the night with a handful of guests, including Redman, Fetty Wap, Naughty By Nature and Wyclef Jean.
Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Normani, Jonas Brothers, Lizzo, H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, Ava Max and CNCO also performed throughout the broadcast.
And, of course, so did Vanguard Award recipient Missy Elliott, who opted for a medley of hits including "Get Ur Freak On" and "Lose Control."
