Watch Dan Mangan Get the Shit Kicked Out of Him by 'The Walking Dead' Actor Steven Ogg in New "Fire Escape" Video

Leave Dan alone!

The most wholesome man in the Canadian music industry is back with an uncharacteristically violent new bit of audiovisual tomfoolery. Dan Mangan has just released "Fire Escape," which comes attached to a video starring The Walking Dead actor Steven Ogg — and let's just say they're quite the odd couple.

Not that anyone would, but if you've ever wanted to see Mangan get the absolute living shit beat out of him, now's your chance. Ogg spends the entirety of the four-minute clip antagonizing Mangan, hitting him with a baseball bat, smashing his plates, trying to suffocate him with exhaust and generally just being a dick. Though they definitely make up in the end! Ogg is joined by The Americans actor Allison Wright, who is much more pleasant to her buddy Mangan, as the pair get coffees, drink wine and hang out.

Ogg and Mangan are doing an Instagram live today at 3 p.m. ET to discuss the wild music video and share some behind-the-scenes stories. You can check that out here

The track itself is an equally star-studded affair, with contributions coming in from producer Drew Brown, as well Joey Waronker, Jason Falkner and Susumu "Zongamin" Mukai.

"'Fire Escape' is about our unshakable longing to be seen, heard, and understood," Mangan said of the pandemic-inspired song. "When everyone was isolated at home I became enamoured with the idea of fire escapes becoming a gathering place, a way to connect with your neighbours. I love the idea that even in the very worst of circumstances or with limited resources, humans will find a way to feel unity."

The track is out now via Arts & Crafts, and you can watch the Lester Lyons-Hookham-directed video below.
