Toni Cornell, the daughter of the iconic rock vocalist Chris Cornell, has shared a cover of Temple of the Dog song "Hunger Strike."
Over the weekend (April 19), Cornell performed the cover from her father's home studio as part of LiveXLive's Music Lives livestream. The event was held to support the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.
"I'm sitting in my dad's studio during this crazy time, and I'm going to sing one of my favourite songs for you," Toni said before playing the song. "I love you daddy and I hope I do this some justice."
Toni Cornell made her solo debut last September with single "Far Away Places." Produced and recorded by her father three months before his death in 2017, the song was also charitable in nature, with proceeds going to the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
Chris Cornell's life and work will be explored in a new biography this year. Pearl Jam also recently shared their favourite memory of the late Soundgarden frontman.
