Warp Unveils Massive 20th Anniversary Box Set

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Jun 11, 2009

As Warp Records continues to ring in its 20th anniversary this year, the London-based label has given us the first sneak peek of the Warp20 box set. Due out in September, the package is ambitious to say the least, coming loaded with more Warp goodies than you could ever hope for.

To break it down for you, the set will contain the following: a double-CD album featuring the best of Warp (one disc of which was chosen by fans), a bound book featuring the artwork of every Warp release from the label's birth up until August 2009, another double-CD set that has 20 unreleased covers of Warp songs by Warp artists past and present, yet one more CD containing an hour-long mix by Osymyso that takes sections, samples and fragments of Warp music from the last 20 years, a triple 10-inch set that collects various unheard Warp tracks and, last but not least, a double 10-inch collection of locked-groove loops from Warp tracks. Phew!

If you're looking for a more detailed description of the set, you can head over to the Warp20 website, where you can also pre-order one of these things. Orders received before July 5 will receive a discount of up to 15 percent, and they'll all be shipped by September 25. And just so you know, this will be a one-time pressing, so if you want one, you should get it on.
