WarioWare has previously existed on several previous platforms – GameCube, GameBoy Advance and Nintendo DS – but its barrage of 200 rapid-fire "microgames" seems purpose-built for the motion-sensitive Wii. It's not a long game by any stretch of the imagination, but the initial hours of unlocking each game and beating each boss merely opens wide the multiplayer and sets the stage for considerable replay time with friends and family. The creators have done their damnedest to incorporate Nintendo's innovative controllers. Using a series of different hand grips – all explained by an announcer with a hypnotically calm voice – the games requires you to flail your arms, leap high and squat low as you get just a few seconds to jump rope, shear sheep, pick noses and twirl hula-hoops. Hell, sometimes all you have to do is drop the Wii-mote (so make sure that safety strap is secured). It's all about as absurd as you could possibly imagine, maybe more so, with disco-dancing cats, shout-outs to classic Nintendo titles and a stylized cartoon look that accentuates the series' trademark quirk. Wii parties are quickly becoming all the rage and Smooth Moves is perfect for such a setting. After all, it's not really about the smooth but the silly and, of course, the laughing at your friends for looking so ridiculous.
