Riff Raff only just recently released his long-promised Peach Panther album, but the braided and grilled-out music figure has announced he's got plans to exit the rap game for a bit. In a surprise move, he's going to apparently be recruiting musicians and songwriters for a country album.
Possibly brought on by catching a Garth Brooks concert the other day, Riff Raff revealed over Instagram today (July 5) that he's in the midst of prepping a C&W-styled collection going by the name of Truck Stuff & Butterscotch Butts.
Despite the bizarre album title, he seems quite serious about the whole thing, noting that he's putting together an eight-person band to record the album in Nashville this October. He's looking to fill slots for fiddlers, guitarists, keyboardists, drummers and more.
Riff has also asked y'all to send on in your acoustic demos, which could either get you in the band or have your original music used for Truck Stuff & Butterscotch Butts. He reiterates of your honky-tonkin' submissions: "no covers."
While Riff Raff is busy touring the world in support of Peach Panther, he notes that the country rock project will also be touring the globe.
This, mind you, isn't the first time Riff Raff has announced a genre switch. When he first teased Peach Panther in 2014, he added that a more rock-flavoured sister set titled Purple Panther would arrive as well. To date, no more info has been shed on that release.
