Cory Hanson has another solo album on the way. The Wand frontman will share Western Cum on June 23 via Drag City.
Hanson dips his toes into the country music scene on Western Cum. The experiment is showcased on the release of lead single "Housefly" and its accompanying music video. Hanson sings of his trivial pursuit of a fly, of all things, but he does so with the vocal twang and country guitar riffs to convince listeners he's chasing it on horseback through the Wild West rather than through his house.

Hanson's upcoming eight-track project is his third as a solo artist following 2021's Pale Horse Rider and his 2016 debut The Unborn Capitalist from Limbo. Hanson's most recent release with Wand was the live album Spiders in the Rain, which came out in October.
