For whatever reason, sophisticated New York indie rockers the Walkmen never stay on one label for long. In their ten-year career, they've had about half as many labels, with the latest being Fat Possum.
Yep, the Walkmen's next long-player will be released by the Mississippi imprint, which has released albums by everyone from old blues dudes to Wavves to Dinosaur Jr. and Andrew Bird.
According to a post on their MySpace blog, the band are currently in the studio plugging away on their follow-up to 2008's You & Me. There's no release date or anything announced yet, but the group are apparently producing the record themselves and working with engineer/mixer Chris Zane, who also helped out on You & Me.
If you live south of the border, the Walkmen also have a few shows lined up, including a SXSW appearance. You can get more info and the dates here.
