Wow. Somebody important must have heard Eminem phrase-dropping Phil Collins in "Stan" and thought, "Hey, let's make a whole record of black artists covering Collins' songs." As bad as it sounds, and often worse, banal R&B types like Montell Jordon, Brian McKnight, Deborah Cox actually succeed in making these songs shoddier. Kelis fairs better on a bluesy, fingers-up version of "I Don't Care Anymore" and then, well, then there's Ol' Dirty Bastard bum-rushing "Sussudio." Just fucking wow.
