After five years and six volumes, it might be expected that Sean Brosnan's venerable Future Disco series should show some wear and tear. But if the seventh instalment leans more toward house than the Balearic nu-disco usually associated with previous releases, the hypnotic sounds featured on 'Til The Lights Come Up definitely exemplify the album's tribute to the rapture of all night dance-floor surrender.
Cajmere's sparse "You're The One" and Planet E's remix of Terrence Parker's glorious "Finally" are choice tracks featured early in the mix, yet it's the midway point, inaugurated with Names In Lights' haunting "Naughty," Crazy P's spacey "Clouds" and James Fox's positive thinking anthem "Holding On" where Lights truly shines. A few duds abound, like Benoit & Sergio's too quirky for its own good "Shake Shake," but overall, this is a worthy instalment in a still vibrant series.
