Amsterdam-based DJs, events company and record label Dekmantel is celebrating its ten-year anniversary with a ten-part EP series that's being released throughout 2017. With EP seven, titled DKMNTL-10YEARS07, the selections pull from an eclectic sonic palette that leans towards the atmospheric fringes of experimental club music, including tracks from Voiski, Randomer, Toulouse Low Trax and Gilb'r.

Parisian techno artist Voiski opens the EP with "Time As a River," on which hypnotic drum loops forge a subtle, churning vortex from a series of organically evolving and interactive percussive layers. Randomer's "Foghorn" then reveals a new dimension to the British producer's industrial grit, as his warehouse aesthetics manifest within the textural atmospherics rather than the thunderous percussion that mark his discography.

The compilation mostly upholds Dekmantel's reputation for its perceptive ability to identify untapped niches and progressive producers within the industry; that said, the two opening tracks leave the strongest impression, as Toulouse Low Trax's "Crash" and Gilb'r's "The Triangle" feel more like an afterthought in contrast to the more compelling opening cuts.
