The Used

The Used

Ignore the fact that the Used’s lead singer Bert McCracken has been romantically linked to a one Ms. Kelly Osbourne. Forget that the Used are younger than the members of *Nsync. Underneath all the media blitz is a hardworking, totally rocking new band with just the right combination of melody and distortion to turn the hard rock world upside down. From start to finish, this record is a fuzzy Deftones-like memory, with 12 burning tracks of light melodic hardcore. With an incomparable range and niche for inking great lyrics, singer/lyricist McCracken enchants audiences with songs like "On My Own” and "The Taste of the Ink.” It’s been a while since I’ve heard such a solid, addictive record, and apparently their live show is no less so. Don’t expect this disc to be leaving your CD player any time soon.
