He's promised that he's laying the live version of Nine Inch Nails to rest but Trent Reznor has also said he'll continue to release music. It's been revealed that his next project could include an amazing collaborating partner, namely dark wave originator Gary Numan.

The Brit has already appeared as a surprise guest during a number of recent NIN shows, so it makes sense. And in an interview with The Quietus, Numan said he indeed plans to make sweet music with Reznor.

"Yes. I know he wants to carry on doing music things," he said. "We went out a few days after [the L.A. gigs] with a few other people and the way he puts it is 'when the dust settles' - I think he means his marriage - but I think he's going to be pretty busy for a while, so it'll either be later this year or early next."

The collaboration most likely won't result in a full album right away, as Numan suggests they'll be starting with "just a few song." Either way, the results are pretty much guaranteed to be synthy, dark and pretty interesting.
