Tourist Company Unveil Flickering "Fractured State" Video

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 5, 2019

Vancouver indie-rock two-piece Tourist Company have shared a new video for the track "Fractured State."

The song will appear on the band's forthcoming sophomore album, following up 2016's Apollo, and it arrives on the tail of lead single "Conflicted/Restricted."

The Sterling Larose-directed video captures the band performing in a suburban living room, as lights and upside down lamps flicker and flash.

"This song was a gut response to a tragic time and the music video follows the same pattern," the band tell Exclaim! "It's about a world in disarray and we love the way Sterling translated that idea visually."

They continue: "The ordinary suburban setting is turned upside down in a frenetic fashion and it puts us in the drivers seat of dealing with chaos through the song itself. I felt like there was something cathartic about having to physically play the song over and over again in that setting, it reminded me that things can be chaotic but that won't always be the case."
