Bunchofuckingoofs — the infamous hardcore punk band of talented drinkers that formed in Toronto's Kensington Market neighbourhood in 1983 — have announced a show to celebrate their 40th anniversary as a band.

BFG will pay tribute to "what can only be described as 14,610 chaotic alcoholidays" together at Lee's Palace on December 1. The event, in memory of Bambi, John Grove (who designed Exclaim!'s logo), Stompin Al Miller, Godzilla and Ciscoby, will see additional performances by Tanya Cheex, Vestigio and Abraxas Reflux.

"On the fifth day, following four days of practice, beer drinking and songwriting at Fort Goof in Toronto's Kensington Market, the founding members of Bunchofuckingoofs (Crazy Steve on vocals, Scrag on bass, Maddog on drums and Bambi on guitar) produced and presented their first six-song set at the legendary Larry's Hideaway," a statement from the band reflects.

"In the 40 chaotic years to follow, the band changed into somewhat of a gang/social club/cult/neighbourhood security team, going through almost 30 members, five bases of operation, one modus operandi, two bars and four boozecans, and participating in two municipal election campaigns."

Amid the chaos, BFG released five collections of their own (1986's There's No Solution So There's No Problem, 1989's Drunk? Destroyed? Demolished!, 1992's Carnival of Chaos + Carnage, 1997's Totally Unmarketable and 2000's Barrage of Battery and Brutality) and contributed to multiple compilation albums over the years.

In 2011, Jennifer Morton published Dirty, Drunk and Punk — a book dedicated to the band's enduring legacy.

Tickets for the show are on sale now.
