Lo-fi lovers rejoice: Dine Alone Records' latest signee is 15-year-old Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist AVIV, and now, she's teamed up with underground rising-star OCTAVIO the Dweeb for a remix of "Black Coffee."

Produced by Rian Lewis (Kiiara, D.R.A.M.), "Black Coffee" is a nostalgic, laidback ode to unfinished business. OCTAVIO the Dweeb lends the track a sense of urgency with his lower-end frequencies and gravelly delivery, while AVIV sounds effortlessly melodic and wistful. Together, they're poised to ride the wave of bedroom pop to the top of every chill Spotify playlist.

Of the track, AVIV said:

With COVID, a lot of my friendships and my friends' romantic relationships just came to a full stop; people drifted. When you pour out your cup of black coffee, there are all of these grains in the bottom that stay there. Those grains are all of the things that could've been pursued, but the cup was already poured out. That's the deeper meaning.

She continued: "If my song takes you somewhere emotional, there's nothing better to me. My music makes me answer my own questions — I hope they do the same thing for you." This wisdom beyond her years is reflected in the ageless relatability of her musical storytelling.

AVIV got her start as an actor, having acted in shows like American Gothic, L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables and Milk Kids. When she was 10, she switched gears and set her sights on music. Now she's adamant about co-producing each song she releases to ensure everything is finely tuned to her vision.

The resultant roast is a rich, balanced blend with floral notes and a hint of caramel.
